“Electrically sensing their way through the Caddo Lake waters is the rare American Paddlefish (Polyogon spathula) that is unlike any other. For millions of years, paddlefish have populated the rivers and drainage basins of North America. During those millions of years they have survived by feeding mainly on zooplankton. Due to the introduction of dams and levees, a loss of their large-river habitats, and main food source have threatened the paddlefish population. Spearheading the repopulation of the species is the biolumenscent paddlefish, born with the rare and special ability to detect hidden food sources in murky waters. With his ability to light the way, the other paddlefish can easily be guided to hidden bounties of nutritious plankton.”

Each plush creation from Earth Wrinkles is imagined and manifested by artist, Kaithlyn Cortez. These whimsical companions are made with high quality faux furs and various fabrics from both new & recycled materials. Each one is sewn a handmade leather tag with the year burnt on the back; they are filled with Poly-Fil, which is made from recycled materials and they are also stuffed with fabric scraps to reduce waste. Each one is crafted with love, care, and attention to detail.
Each unique creation is paired with a specially designed story card and a Certificate of Adoption.
